Memorial Hospital – which has served northwest Ohio’s Sandusky County area since 1918 – officially became part of ProMedica in January 2014. With more than 600 employees and 150 physicians, 186-bed ProMedica Memorial Hospital offers comprehensive healthcare services, including emergency care, a state-of-the-art surgery center, inpatient pediatrics, and a birthing center.
“We are very pleased to have Memorial Hospital join ProMedica,” said Randy Oostra, ProMedica president and chief executive officer. “Memorial Hospital joining ProMedica will help facilitate collaborative endeavors to better address critical health and social needs throughout the community. It is imperative that organizations such as ours seek to achieve more effective and efficient clinical integration as we expand access to exceptional care.”
Said Ken Meyers, board chairman of the hospital located in Fremont, Ohio: “Partnering with ProMedica will ensure that our hospital remains an integral component of the health and well-being of the communities we serve.”
ProMedica Memorial Hospital patients will have access to a much larger network of physicians and healthcare services. Internal teams at the hospital will seek ways to enhance access to health care, increase efficiencies and coordinate care more effectively, said Pamela Jensen, hospital president.
“As a member of ProMedica, we will have access to more resources and expertise to enhance the quality of patient care and meet the critical needs of our communities,” she said.
